In _the Stones: The Acclaimed Biography_, author Philip Norman boldly stated that Jumpin' Jack Flash was "undisputedly the Stones' best performance on record." Well, if you grant that, this statement below is gonna be even harder to beat: Can't You Hear Me Knocking has the best riff that Keith Richards ever wrote. The crunchy, meandering riff sounds raw and full of venom, ranting just like the junkie in the lyrics who couldn't get his next dope; if a guitarist can make his guitar talk, that's gotta be it.
