I don't think I can claim that Nicole Atkins is a new find anymore - she is already headed towards the top after earning a spot on the Rolling Stone's Top 10 Artists to watch list for this year, a couple appearances on the Late Show, and a debut album, Neptune City.

Her vocals do project a sometimes sinister image (that she refers to as "pop noir"), although in this song has a weird twist on her usual sound. The staccato rhythm piano really contributes to the aura of the carnival in "Carouselle".
