Screaming Lord Sutch. The window washer son of a poor, widowed Londoner, rose to stardom in the late 50's playing "scary" rock themes. Most of his songs dealt with monster confrontation, horror, and death - in a tasteful tongue-in-cheek stage show in which he dressed for the party.
At various times, his band the "Savages" employed Jimmy Page, Jeff Beck, Ritchie Blackmore and drummer Carlo Little - mentor of one Keith Moon (who was occasionally allowed to sit in whilst Carlo took a breather) ((read more here: http://www.carlolittle.com/savages/savages2.htm ))
