Some Lite Funk and Funny on Friday: Fare Thee Well (for now), Joxley

Big shout out to our hiatus-bound bro Joxley! Let me explain...
Ya'll know Chris Elliot. The wretched plow driver (along with Iggy Pop!) in "Snow Day". The basement dwelling weirdo brother-in-law Peter on "Everyone Loves Raymond". Not to mention his lone star vehicle film "Cabin Boy" (never seen it? c'mon, how can you resist Letterman's solitary film cameo - as a ruffed up sailor selling sock monkeys on the pier "Hey kid, wanna buy a monkey??")
Son of Bob Elliot, half of the creatively titled "Bob and Ray" comedy duo, he got his start as a writer on Letterman, and eventually managed to land his own Fox sitcom "Get a Life" in the early 90's. To me, one of the rawest, funniest an irrevernt shows ever televised. Can't hear the laugh track on this one over my own guffaws. At least it lasted three seasons before sinking under its own crudity.
There are a couple of DVD's that have been released, each with four eps. But, these are far from the cream of the crop as I remember it. I have a jittery and grainy videotape of my two favorites, "Bad Fish" and "Spewey" that I pull out about once a year to remind me that tv can, on occasion, be actually funny. "Gilligan's Island" funny perhaps, but def heads above "How I Met Your Mother" humor (sorry, fans...)
Well, after reading Jox's post this morning, I was urged toward what I could remember about college related material that would make good post-fodder. My brain landed on the "Bad Fish" ep, where Chris decides he needs to learn what "amnesia" means, goes to college and graduates (in about 20 seconds), returns home regretting he still didn't learn the meaning of that word, and ends up in the "favorite" party game of bobbing for meatballs in mashed potatoes.
Lo and behold, some kind soul with a streak of humor appreciation has loaded the whole thing to youtube.
And Michael Franks is in there, trust me.
Best of luck Joxley!!
