Did Anyone Tell Andy?

Artist:
We have a crisis brewing friends. Apparently, no one took the time to tell our good pal Andy Kim that the seventies ended long, long ago. The very idea that that someone, even one with such songwriting merit badges as The Archies "Sugar, Sugar" and the forest fauna favorite "Rock Me Gently", would have the misguided audacity to take the time and record a whole set of new songs and send them in search of an AM radio audience is just plain cruel.
Why, if I weren't gently rocking to near every cut on his newly released "Happen Again", I just might be inclined to file a formal protest with the RIAA.

Look at that wry smile! The nerve of this guy, trying to merge just enough indie rock sensibility into "Love Is" so you might be fooled into thinking it's the latest Magic Numbers spell...are you incensed?
And how much it galls me to hear a classic like "Cupid" paraphrased into something "new" like "Love Has Never Been My Friend"?? Oh my, poor Sam Cooke must be rolling over in...Sam? Sam! I didn't say rockin gently...not you too!!
All kidding aside, this is surprisingly good...maybe surprising isn't a valid adjective from a talent like Mr. Kim. All thanks to Eric Alper and E1 Music Canada for the notice!

u gotta keep plugin - when music is in your DNA, what else are u gonna do?
....And so Scotty, you've finally flipped. I mean, this isn't bad. I'm all confused? Wait a minute...where's my pipe? Ok...Andy Kim? ANDY KIM??? YOU POSTED ANDY KIM TRACKS? Well, I guess pride & dignity are over-rated.
All seriousness aside.....What happened? Did you lose a bet? ANDY FUCKING KIM??????!!!!!!
Not bad though, huh?
presenting inrumford, biological scientist. did you get the same email??
"I think songwriters don't have a choice," Andy says. "Gotta do it. Nobody retires from songwriting. They can retire from live performance, but not from songwriting. What thrills me is I love people and I'm curious about people and I'm always wondering why they do what they do, so it's a way of me finding out, then releasing that discovery."
Jeff, I would never have sought this out - yet admitting that bias shows my elitism. I got an email that I almost threw away offering the download. The backup band intrigued me a bit, so I gave it a shot. work's been a bit overwhelming, and I'm out of relaxant...
from the accompanying bio-Utilizing crack musicians from the Los Angeles area - including bassist Hal Cragin (Iggy Pop) and guitarist Gannin Arnold (Taylor Hawkins, Chris Chaney), Bob Medici (Lou Reed), and producers Jim Goodwin and Chris Fuhrman - they cut the basic tracks and most of the vocals in 5 days, working 10 to 14 hours a day.
Outrageous! Everyone knows its the 80's now....
LOL!! I know!
