After everyone had passed out but me, at an all-nite party many moons ago, I sat in an overstuffed chair in my friend's parent's basement perusing a large compilation of quotations. Of the few I wrote down were " if you do not make new friends as you go through life, you will soon find yourself alone.". Everything changes for everyone. Priorities push and pull us to make decisions at every crossroad.
So, what am I getting at(?) you may ask...
a bit quiet round here as some of my good buds (Codyb and Bartleby) have gone on summer hiatus
why are there only a handful of cover versions of the great Bowie tune "Changes"? Wiki gives us Los Chicros, Butterfly Boucher, Seu Jorge, Shawn Mullins and Joe K's Kid - all since '98. Any moggers know of other versions??
I am getting a bit addicted to mixwit, as here is a list of songs with "Change..." in the title.
And since Bowie's "Andy Warhol" was the flip side of the "Changes" 45rpm, my mixwit cassette is adorned with a Warhol-esque Mog Love pic, the second in my Lunch art series

i just caved and signed up for the mixwit too. Themed ones are always fun and the "Lunch art," excellent! I am vibing off the Mog Love here!
WoW! What a lot of thought went into this! Great tracks and I, too, love the themed mixes. If I ever Start over there on Mixwit, they'll have to taser me to get me to stop! Too much fun!
yo crack me up :) glad you haven't gone on summer hiatus Scot!
Mixwit is a weird way to find new music Brit! So much to just click and play, I really liked doing this theme and picking about half of it new to my ears.
Taser, now that sounds fun Madeline. I'd like some electroshock with my Aphex Twin please.
I ain't goin' nowhere pixie, this place is more fun a park full-o rollercoasters. Glad ya liked it.
Ain't mixwit great? I've only done one complete mix yet, but it sure is fun to just sit down and try to come up with themes to search for. You're right, it really is a fun way to find new music. This was a great idea and I also love the artwork. The thought process you laid out was great.
Love that Yes track "Changes", haven't heard that one in ages!
Nice list Scott. Dig the cover attached, lovely voice she has. I'm especially interested in this lunch art you've started...sounds like a great idea!
Thanks Groon, mixwit is a bit absorbing, eh??
Me either Augusts, and what a great track after the radio quits playing it 30 times a week!!
Yes Helen, she makes it sound nice and fresh...I've gotten back into the "lunch art" project, so watch for more.
