Halloween Hair of the Dog - a.Sunday Under Covers Style 2.Inattention to the Ever Popular Torturing Artist Effect

Posted 24 days ago

it wouldn't be (post) Halloween without a little Alice!

a.From first listen, I always "knew" that "I'm Always Chasing Rainbows" from Alice Goes to Hell was a cover of a ver old song. But, in these days of immediate historical access, I can tell you that the 1917 penned Joseph McCarthy lyrics were set adapted to a Chopin melody (Fantaisie-Impromptu) by Harry Carroll, and first utilized on Broadway in 1918's Oh, Look! by the Dolly Sisters (of course, we all trust wiki in these matters). A "true popular standard", it's been recorded many, many times. Alice starts nice and sweet, soon escalates this version into over-the-top bombast. Clear your palette with Judy Garland's sweetness.

2. I'm losing I've lost it. Good 'ol Alice lays down a brand new celebratory anthem, and I don't even discover it until all the zombie's are re-buried and the graves filled back in. Even the promo has that classic Alice pay-me-now-and-pay-me-later attitude! psst...eat a a few candy corns and peanuts at the same time - it tastes just like a Payday! bar.

well, DMDM, he's no Ringo - but he's had something of an illustrious career anywho.

so true inrum, the original band at least. Alice's solo stint might be more suited to the vaudville HoF (LOL)

An interesting PSA from "Alice Bowie." Even Cheech & Chong can get behind the Stale Kandy Korn campaign. (Unfortunately, all I have to offer is "fresh frozen" brand name candy for that delicious Halloween chill.)

Geezers' choice!  A sweet song spiced with irony so subtle, you have to think who it is every few measures.  He always has been a really sweet guy.  I love the children and their costumes!  Maybe next year it could be pet costumes.

Alice Cooper is one of the most interesting, if only for his extreme dissimilar interest, that you will find in the rock kingdom. He has his Doctoral Degree (Albeit honorary), Lives and LOVES his sports, Golf as a participant (3-4 Handicap) and Baseball as a huge fan. He is a restauranteur (Alice Cooper's Town), He got Dave Mustaine off of drugs, He is an Actor, a Radio Host, He slept with Rachel Welch (Hubba Hubba), a Born Again Christian and a Sober Recovering Alcoholic of 20 years.

Ya Spike, Alice is a top showman. Always liked it when he turned to the occasional ballad.

thanks Augusts nice data-add, but for one correction. In Alice's own words, Raquel wanted him BAD, but as he was deeply in love with the woman who soon became his wife...he turned her down!! Now that's some anti-rock-fodder!!
