Hybrid - the trance era through a wide angle

Posted about 1 year ago
The closing track of the double CD set "Hybrid - Wider Angle Special Edition" is this cool trance-funk number featuring Chrissie Hynde on vocals. "Kid 2000" is labled as the 12" original mix, and I gotta wonder why it did not make the cut for the abriged release of wider angle? Still, an awful lot of great stuff on the main set. Hybrid are: Mike Truman, Chris Healings and Lee Mullin and these guys put down some of the most dramatic symphonic trance you'll ever hear. On the "Wide Angle" set, they are also joined by Julie Cruise as vocalist and co-writer. Julie, not to step on toes, is best known as the vocalist for the Twin Peaks title track "Falling". She has also worked with the ultra cool Pluramon. You can catch poebegone's Pluramon post here. http://mog.com/poebegone/blog_post/116705"If I Survive" (in comments) features Julie's "distinctive, airy voice" (to quote Mr. Wiki)

  7. scotfree says I know that's all out there on DVD, gotta do that some day. 3 offspring, 2 girls, 26 and 21, and the boy 16. The middle child just signed a stint with the Navy. It'll be good for her as she has no discipline or structure.

  8. poebegone says a middle child! no discipline, no structure - i understand her already. was it her wish to sign up with the Navy? as you know, 21 is a pressure-laden age. i'm waaay past 21 and still have a problem with authority, haha. the boy is either being bullied or spoiled by his 2 older sisters. either way, he'll grow up having polar love-hate emotions towards females. i'm sure he's cool and all. does any of them listen to your kind of music?

  9. scotfree says It was her decision. After completing a year of university, she decided the student loans were to costly. Moved away and tried to make it on her own, she lives with aboy she was gonna marry at one point but now they don't really have a relationship - yet still live together. It sounds like she is really throwing herself into the new decision, and she tested in at a very high level. Still, the thought of my daughter with her finger on a "launch" button is giving m nightmares :) The boy is too cool for his own good, his dream is to become a pro snowboarder - and to hell with all else. My son and I have developed a good musical dialogue - he's quite into softer sounds (like Jack Johnson, Feist or Paolo Nutini) and he's has pointed me to some great stuff.
