Steve Hillage-Retro Rebuff 2007

Posted over 4 years ago
I have to say, as a lifelong music fan, 2007 was a banner year I will not soon forget.I do believe I have listened to more and varied musical styles last year than any year since becoming a cellular being. Prior to finding this fabulous world at Mog, I pretty much busied myself filling in a lot of holes from music that was lost over the years. Someday, I'll do a post on my ill-fated move to Cali, but for now suffice to say - 2007 HOO-BOY!so, as I sit and ponder all the growth and give thanks for all the new friends, what do I slip on the decks. Totally retro, Steve Hillage - "Green"Steve has been laying down blistering guitar licks since '68. He's jammed with legends Caravan, Spirogyra and Kevin Ayers. He's produced Simple Minds, Robin Hitchcock, and The Charlatans. An on and off member of the legend that is Gong, he's even worked with the Orb and Rachid Taha.Quite Well travelled."Green" is a classic recording co-produced by Pink Floyd's Nick Mason (still name dropping). The UFO's are in the news again.

  5. MusikMagik says Nice work. I have "Fish Rising" and Motivation Radio" somewhere in a dusty pile of LPs but they'd be too beaten up to be worth digitizing. Did you ever get into his stuff with System 7?

  9. Born2rant says Hello There I found your post about Steve Hillage and I thought I'd drop you a line in case you might be interested in my blog. I have written a couple of posts about him and I also write about all kinds of music and counterculture stuff that went on in the uk that no one has yet documented. I also have some interviews and posters that are totally original on my blog. My last post is how I first saw Steve Hillage in 1976 and when I last saw him in 2007. There's a whole novel in between if I put my mind to it. I started to write my blog as my son asked me to since I have witnessed so much and have so much to rant about politically! I am singer-songwriter but my blog is under an anonymous name. If you are interested please go check it out and tell other Steve Hillage fanatics! Love and Peace hippiecounterculture.wordpress.com
