WHERE THE HOKEY POKEY "IS" WHAT IT'S ALL ABOUT

Toxic Tuesday...pity poor Michigan

Posted 8 months ago

Poor, poor Michigan. not only are they saddled with the sagging auto industry and growing industrial wasteland of the inner cities, they've got the Kid waxing poetic about his misspent youth in their borders.
The problem I have with this theme, is that I just don't waste neurons on music that does not appeal. However, this one won't go away. Trapped in a world I never made, the criminally mashed up strains of the bearable "Sweet Home Alabama" and the liked "Werewolves of London" seem to be quite popular with the yee-hah set - and everytime I hear this I want to simutaneously puke and punch someone in the bawitdaba.
At least you can turn down the sound and watch some nice HQ photos of what I assume is Michigan's natural majesty.

What's it they say about the best thing about Detroit is "being from it".  Kid Rock is a populous fabrication of the worst kind.

I would agree if I knew what the heck a bawitdaba was... ;-)

Hmmm, so that's Kid Rock singing. Actually it's suprisingly not as bad as I expected. He has a fairly decent singing voice. At least it's better than some other 'singers' out there. He must've taken some singing lessons.

"Kid Rock is a populous fabrication of the worst kind." - I wonder if that would work as a tatoo contra??

I may be jeopardizing the authenticity of my post Zen, but I only know "bawitdaba" as an early Kid Rock song (hey, it's a funny title...I couldn;t even humm it...really!!!)

Ah... thank you for clarifying... have to admit to not listening to any of The kids stuff before.. hes like Kanye West to me...nothing..

Also thought on first listen that I was hearing a clone of Sweet Home and the wonderful Warren... but since then I have turned off when its played... which it seems to be frequently... I found myself going back to listen to Warren for solace...

Having been born and raised in Detroit I have hard time acknowledging that Kid Rock as being from Motor City. When there are so many other creative people who have yet to recieve that kind of recognition.

Fair enough. I've actually heard this before! I never knew who the "artist" is. Now that I know, I miss my oblivion :)

that is funny Anna! when I decided to do this post - even though family and "friends" had ground the artist/song link into the mental ashtray many times - I could not recall the artist...or even the name of the tune!! I had to track it down from a snippett of lyric! Ahh, at least the mental blockade is funktional...

Execrable. Like all of his stuff. As a matter of fact, your neighborhood mash-up maven is downright offended. And due to my tardiness, the post has turned this into a Toxic Thursday, scot

now that's full circle Mike....you just taught me a new word with "execrable" - so the first thing I comprehended (before consulting Mr. Webster) was "Like all his stuff.", funny how one word can bring down an entire empire. Your offense is my pleasure!
