British DJ John Peel said, of his favorite record "Teenage Kicks" by the Undertones, that
"There's nothing you could add to it or subtract from it that would improve it."
I know how I got here, but that's not important - let's have some fun!

Can't argue w/John Peel since he's got such a major rep! Quite interesting, thanks for sharing the covers of it too.
I couldn't believe how many covers there were! Until I saw the Peel angle, that is...then it made sense. Did you make it to the Nouvelle Vague one? I really liked that, never heard of them but now I want more.
My favorite has to be the Ukelele Band's version. Extensive research there, thanks.
haha, love the covers. my band played this a couple of times at shows too! i'm with you scotfree the nouvelle vague one is a great version. and the skateboarder...eh
Heard of Nouvelle Vague, they do some other covers too like this Joy Division song:
thanks levek, but the only challenge was seperating the wheat from the chaffe....there's a LOT to choose from!
skateboarder's kind of relaxed in that big ol flat lot, isn't he?? Don't miss the kidlets in that last clip...
yeah Ag, started diggin' around and saw that Bartelby had posted them (among others). he goes for the provocative every time...

Funny - when I saw the post heading I first thought Love Will Tear Us Apart would be his #1, then I remembered reading about Teenage Kicks being his favourite.
And there you have Nouvelle Vague covering both songs. Cool.
Best cover, best haircuts: actual teenagers, The Ice Cold Idiots.
Drives me crazy every single time I listen to it. Multiply that with the covers and get quite a substantial amount of craziness. Thanks for this, Scot!
May all your wishes be fullfilled T! :)
yes, yes Colin! my son and I were watching that one again last night...incredibly talented little booggers!!
driving Anna crazy? well, don't put your eyepatch on the wrong side and run into a wall or anything. παρακαλώ!
