This is one Macca opus one wouldn't expect to be covered...a rather minor work.....
.........we used to play a parlor game....the degrees of seperation (from one or more Beatle) of everyone named in the original version.
.....I suppose I should mention this versions obvious superiority. He's takem Macca's taunt & turned it inside out & sideways, celebratory, with a joyous anger.
yes , DMDM this surprised me. Heck, I was just Jonesing for a little "Me and Mrs...", and a few tracks later this gem pops up. Much as I do like the orig., I concur with your wisdom.

I've always this track as interpreted by Billy Paul and failed to make the connection with Macca or even its resonance for the African American songster... Nice one indeed!!!
