I couldn't help but to notice that this week, the same week their new 'music label' issued a compilation disc from Sonic Youth, that Starbucks had to close 600 more stores.
I have a feeling that in some New York City basement Kim, Thurston, and Lee are rocking out and totally digging the irony of all of this right about now.
And with all due respect to Starbucks employees(I have been downsized - it sucks), but maybe if they didn't build a Starbucks on EVERY OTHER BLOCK...this could have been avoided...just an observation.

ya think... I have three in a 1 mile radius...
one is a drive thru though - so that one I hope remains open !!!
Obviously our "addiction to oil" has won out over our "addiction to half calf decaf's". Some say Ronald McDonald was too blame...
BASTARD... I like the Joker better !!!
Oh sure let's go blame Ronald. He's such an easy target with those yellow and red stripes. Grrr, I'm getting annoyed just thinking of that outfit.
if they are having a dance party, i want to join!
Maybe it's Sonic Youth, but the naffest-ever collection of reggae and ska they just extruded might be a factor too. (Starbucks is usually where I buy my Saturday paper when the supermarket sells out.) These people have not only jumped the shark, they sailed over three porpoises and a manta ray in the process....
I don't think they are in a New York basement.
Sorry one more comment. This was something written about my city Trenton, NJ:
There is no Starbucks in Trenton. While signifying a lack of civilization to some, to others it represents a welcome relief from the soul-numbing uniformity that grips most of the country...
Starbucks is the only cafe in Greece where you can't smoke inside the place.
To hell with them!
One voe for cosmic justice....and eternal damnation!
