Coachella snapshots...one big holiday

Posted about 1 year ago
Singing along, in the loudest voice I could muster, with Glen Hansard as he put every ounce of his soul into his version of Van Morrison's 'Astral Weeks'...Listening to 70,000 of my newest, closest friends singing along with 'Little Red Corvette' and about 2 1/2 hours worth of Prince's amazing catalog...Laying on my back, looking up at the desert sky and its' stars while 'Wish You Were Here' echoes through the Coachella valley...Toasting with new friends during The Verve's 'Bittersweet Symphony' and thinking that life really doesn't get much better than this...Unable to take my eyes off of Jim James and My Morning Jacket as they rocketed through one of the greatest sets of rock n roll that I have ever seen...chills on top of chills...Three of the more perfect days of my life...without a doubt.

  2. Lizziegreeneyes says How funny is it that as I think back to this weekend... with all those brilliant snapshots in view; front & center is the lot of MOGtipliers with whom I was lucky enough to spend a blissed out weekend in the desert. Music may be like air for the lot of us, but what's pumping through my veins even in my exhausted state, it's all about the 9 of us !!! Don't see our weekend ever being topped... equaled maybe, but never topped :) XXX Oh, & I almost stepped on a cricket at the Palm Springs airport, *b*... fear not, he's still hopping to see another day ;)

  4. amber says I'm not happy....I'm ??sad??. I miss you 7 (Jaye I can't seem to get rid of, hee hee) like crazy. But like the great Dane himself said, it's not like I won't "see" you every day. Man, o' man...I love you guys. We will do this again. I told you all it would be epic and I was RIGHT!

  6. Bartleby says :::sigh::: Now I wish I was there... What can beat a massive intake of excellent music, live and unfiltered when one is a music-addict? It must have been something that would keep anyone miles high for quite a while. Any chance some of you charitable souls post some pictures of the MOG tribe on the prowl in the desert? (Perhaps I missed that post.)

  8. amber says Bartleby....pictures? I've got your stinking pictures! I took over a 1000 and am still going through them and will only post a few here but there will be LOADS of them on my flickr page. Follow the linkage on my profile in a few days and prepare to get sick of looking at them. :) There were truly too many stories to tell in just 48 hours back...I have at least 8 posts cooking in my head, both music and friend/family filled. Patience,---grasshopper---, er, cricket. ;)

  10. Me and the Horse I Rode In On says Crickets. Let me tell you this Anna. The way Blair reacted I was sure he'd found a snake or a scorpion in the car. He did put up a great fight and made some entertaining noises as well. I can't believe that I'm sitting in Denmark right now reading about this weekend. It seemed unreal when I was there and now it seems unreal that it ever happened. Best weekend ever. Had we had 1 more oz of fun we would have broken the law.

  11. Anna says I actually feel for Blair, they are UTTERLY disgusting. I'd prefer the snake/scorpion....

  15. Me and the Horse I Rode In On says You most certainly did. So much for priorities. So much for responsibilities. I'm rubbing it in........I know. Just can't help it. I mean. I flew 6000 miles.............and it felt right.
