I just got Alicia Keys's new album yesterday and so far I'm liking what I'm hearing. The thing I like most about A-Keys is the fact that she mixes the older forms of R&B/Soul (Motown for example) with new forms, and she uses real instruments and musicians too. I'm not knocking more producer-oriented artists and album, but it's refreshing to hear real instruments in modern R&B.So far, the highlight for me is "Lesson Learned" because John Mayer guests on the track and I'm a big fan of his. He doesn't overplay or oversing at all on the song, which is nice considering a lot of artists tend to overdue it when they sit in on someone else's album. You can hear his respect for Alicia's melody and he adds just enough spice with his backing vocals and guitar.If you have a chance, definitely pick this one up.
