Dave Gahan Get Well Soon!

Well when he got sick in Greece and the band had to cancel a bunch of dates...10 if I am not mistaken. I prayed fervently (for my own selfish purposes of course) for Dave to be alright and get better. I will admit that I sat smugly at home thinking about all the poor bastards that were missing out on one the best shows anywhere, and how I would see them close to home (1 1/2 hr drive) because Dave would be all better by then...sigh. So it was bad karma, not only should I have prayed for his recovery for his and his families' sake, but I should not have felt so smug. Now the "poor bastards" in Europe whose dates got canceled are thinking poor bastards in San Francisco, he was all better then got sick just in time to cancel for that ONE show. It was my fault...I was being selfish I wanted him to get better so he could come and entertain ME; I got the best seats I've ever been able to get at the Shoreline Ampitheatre, I had my outfit picked out, the babysitter lined up and was ready for the Showman to please me, a night of hedonistic singing at the top of my lungs to the anthems of my soul! (sigh). I sat at home, popped in my Touring the Angel DVD, and pouted with a long tall glass of...milk. I am still praying for Dave, and the rest of the band and for their families ( the repercussions of so many canceled shows, a lot of people were out of work for that) but now pure of heart and in his best interest. Well maybe just with the tiniest bit of selfishness, I plan to drive to Texas to see them or Florida or maybe I will even fly to Mexico in October to take in what I deem "The Greatest Show on Earth", no relation to the Ringling Bros, or PT Barnum shows. I may have to take a Dantean trip to the underworld to purge my soul of this selfish desire for satisfaction though, ah well, it would be worth it.
