is anyone else a member of lala.com? if not, most of you probably should be. lala is a cd traing service - you list cds that you have and ones that you want, and lala acts as an intermediary, finding people who want the cds you want to get rid of, and vice versa. i had signed up a while go, but just started trading this week. i've already shipped 5 cds (like netflix, lala sends you postage paid envelopes), and i've got 4 that i wanted coming to me already. you only pay for albums you receive, and it's just $1 per album. it's a great service, if you have a rotating cd collection like i tend to. if you sign up through me (send me your email address and i'll send you an invitation), i get a free t-shirt! do it!

eshep says hey safronia, i signed up. i signed up thru the link sent by you, so hopefully you'll get the threads. ok, i'm nervous now. i have been a digital convert for a few years now, so all my cds are in various places in the house (some in boxes, some on shelves, some in cabinets). my fear is that i mark a cd as one that i own, then someone asks to have it shipped, and then i can't hunt it down. but wow, yeah, this is cool. i think the areas where this is really going to work is in very hard to find regional indie releases, and other obscure out of print things that the interweb seems to be so good at bringing to the surface. looking forward, nervously.

safronia says the good thing, eshep, is that you're not committed to trading anything that you own just by listing it. so you can list something, and if someone says they want it, you don't have to ship it unless you really want to (or if you can find it, hehe). so just don't click the button that says you'll ship it until you're sure. i've also been digital for several years, but i'm really having fun with this. i always traded in my cds and bought used from my local record store, but this is better! don't be nervous! it's fun!!!
