1972 was a blockbuster year for music, and among the multiplicity of classics (Ziggy Stardust, Transformer, Harvest, Exile on Main Street, Superfly, The Harder They Come, and eponymous first albums by both Jackson Browne and a post-Garfunkel Paul Simon, among others and excluding Randy Newman), this album tends to get overlooked:
Now these guys from Ohio were never hailed as the saviors of American music, and every track isn't a classic, but the sentiment of 'Amie' still rings true for everyone who's ever had to negotiate a romantic crossroads. My other favorite from the PPL is 'Early Morning Riser,' but I can only post one song at a time.
