"A long and enduring presence" and McCain's 100 years is not exactly dealing with the here and now; it's more like saying let's let future generations sort out this mess we've made. And is a little foresight and forethought really too much to ask from the leaders of the "free" world. Actions have consequences; developmentally we grasp this pretty clearly by age eight. And now looks like we've come full circle back to "It's the economy, stupid."

Wicked stats dude, Saddams "rule of terror" doesnt look so bad all of a sudden. Theres a lot to be said for tidying your own yard. Lets not forget that its not just USA over there. I got to say at least USA is reasonably up front about who they got over there. NZ has special forces in Afghanistan that we cant find out about and we are supposed to be agin it!
