Who's That Ridin'?

Posted about 1 year ago
Don't know why, but I really dig this song. Maybe being raised up in the Bible belt coming out. I heard a killer version by Taj Mahal, but can't seem to raise it. Not at all sure the Gov'T Mule version will be an acceptable substitute, but we'll give it a spin. Also a definitive reading by Blind Willie Johnson, followed by Depeche Mode for the simple hell of it. Blind Willie JohnsonDepeche ModeP.S. Gov'T Mule is tre acceptable.

  1. runobodyii says Now I'm wondering if it shouldn't be "Who's That Writin'? But then there are horses involved. Guess we didn't truck much with Revelations.

  4. Spike says Wonderful versions (visions?) here. Depeche Mode's is a surprise. This is the first time I've seen Blind Willie Johnson's photo with a piano in the background. I just used Mog's "Find your favorite music" tool to see what other versions there are, and it blew my mind how many there are. Who would have expected it years ago?

  5. HelenMarie says Mule is a great cover. Like them anyhow. And yeah...as Spike said that Depeche Mode was a (pleasant) surprise...cool progressive twist.

  6. runobodyii says I was fixing to post a Son House video, but on the one I viewed he seemed reluctant to sing and was telling us how many books in the Old and New Testaments and what it added up to and so forth. But he sounds great on the track you posted, dermahrk.
