Missing Links: Tim O'Brien and Darrell Scott

Posted almost 4 years ago
I discovered these guys last year listening to a bluegrass channel on Pandora. "With a Memory Like Mine" was the track I heard. Blown away, I searched the alubm out and have been loving it ever since. Both are amazing musicians and their voices aren't too shabby either. Listening to them play is like listening to your elders engrossed in conversation - - mysterious, intriguing, and yet somehow comforting and familiar. Among the thirteen tracks, not a dud.

  1. Spike says This is beautiful. Who wrote it? I've heard only O'Brien's fine somewhat bluegrassy 1996 CD Red on Blonde, filled with Bob Dylan songs. This song is harder to categorize; acoustic singer-songwriter waltz?

  2. runobodyii says Who wrote it? That question is proving a strong argument for buying real physical cds with liner notes and song creds and maybe even lyrics. From reading around on the net I surmise that in addition to the traditonal songs, there are two by Hank Williams and the rest are originals by either O'Brien or Scott. The former has a new singer/songwriter album coming March 25th. I'll defintely be on it.

  4. runobodyii says Spike, here you go: "More Love" was written by GARY TOLBERT NICHOLSON and TIM(OTHY PAGE) O'BRIEN. The Dixie Chicks also perform the song on their album Home. Think I prefer the guys, but it's a fine song.
