WHERE THE HOKEY POKEY "IS" WHAT IT'S ALL ABOUT

AFI @ the Cain's

I'm pretty positive life is complete. AFI put on an awesome show last night!We missed the first opener, which I believe was the Dearly Departed? or the Dear and Departed? something. anyways, we arrived just as they were exiting the stage. Then, Sick of it All came onstage and caused a ruckus in the crowd. They put on a very high energy show. I'd never really heard them before, but judging by their name, I knew what to expect. They made some music that let people beat each other up and left.Then AFI let us wait for half an hour as they set up the completely white stage; white mic stands, white speakers, white lights, white everything! Of course, they opened with Prelude 12/21, which was niiiiice. They played a set full of new and old songs (mostly Sing the Sorrow) and then they covered Just Like Heaven! I was pretty pumped about that. I got to hear The Leaving Song, probably my favorite AFI song. For the encore they played God Called in Sick Today and Davey Havok pretended he was Jesus as he walked on the crowd's hands...In my opinion, they ended on a sore note...they ended with quite possibly their worst song - Miss Murder. Kind of a let down after the whole walking on the crowd's hands thing...overall, amazing experience. worth the $54 each we paid to the nice ebay lady.

  2. Cinful says awesome pictures!!! I saw AFI last year ... and I feel the same way! They're worth every dime it takes to get to see them!! alas, location, location, location ... Davey peeled off his false eyelashes and tossed them into the crowd ~ I wasn't in the right place at the right time ... but, hell, yeah, if I'd gotten them, I would've worn em!!! {wink}
