Listen to the guitar in this song - Adrenochrome
I do better with nostalgia when I can pinpoint exactly *why* I became thrilled with a song in the first place. In the case of Sisters of Mercy, it wasn't really that Nick and Pete Bell (East Lansing's resident goth brothers and heirs to the Bell's Greek Pizza throne) were the seniors in high school telling me what was cool and what was not... I mean, perhaps that was why I got to listen to this band in the first place, but it wasn't what kept me coming back. Really what it came down to on those early demos was Wayne Hussey's fiery guitar, which, although probably recorded on a cheap 4 track, sounded as huge as Funhouse or Kick Out the Jams. I could seriously listen to this song all day and it would keep my blood moving.
