WHERE MUSIC LISTENS TO YOU

Gilberto Gil - Luminoso!

Posted over 2 years ago
What can I say? I was simply blown away by GilBerto Gil's one-man, all-acoustic concert last night at Zellerbach Hall, presented by CalPerformances. Just him alone, playing guitar and singing, and I was riveted the entire time. The rest of the audience was as enthralled as I was. Gilberto Gil is an amazing, beautiful person and his artistry with voice and guitar is unmatched. He performs and puts forth with such spirit and gusto, just a joy to experience and a complete inspiration for me.He played lots of his popular Tropicalia music as well as some great covers, including "When I'm Sixty-Four" by The Beatles (Gilberto Gil is now 64!), "Can't Find My Way Home" by Blind Faith, and a couple of Bob Marley songs. My only regret is that Shar was not able to accompany me because she threw her back out earlier in the weekend and she had not recovered enough to be able to sit through the show. I would have loved to have shared this experience with her, but I took my friend, Alex and he really loves Gilberto Gil so we had a lot of fun. Here is a little taste, although with a full band (this song was incredible last night):
