Things I Got For Christmas

Posted about 5 years ago
For Christmas, I got myself Low's "Things We Lost In the Fire". I had Sunflower on my playlist for several months and wanted to hear the rest. It is still my favorite on the album, but the album really holds together as a unit is great when hear in one sitting. My wife got me "The Life You Save Might Be Your Own", an intertwined biography of Dorothy Day, Thomas Merton, Walker Percy, and Flannery O'Conner. It is a compelling read, and now that I am back at work, I am missing it. Vikki and my girls also got me a book on birdsongs including transcriptions in music notation. I am looking forward to reading that next. Any cool Christmas gifts, anyone?

  1. Samuel says I remember a few year ago sitting at a coffee shop for hours on end listening to Sunflower on repeat while drawing. It's one of my all-time favorite songs, and the rest of the album flows perfectly with it.
