Warped Tour 2008 (Denver, CO)

So, I went to Warped Tour yesterday for the very first time and that's a little surprising coming from me seeing as how I try to go to those types of events whenever I can. I went with my girl, Alisa, and our friend, Amanda. I went in with zero expectations and I was really impressed with all that I experienced. The only thing(s) that were disappointing were...

1. ...that there was no schedule for each show so you had to go around the whole Warped Tour site and find times for each show that you wanted to go to. Lame.

2. I missed Story Of The Year.

The first show we saw was Anberlin's acoutic set. They played about 5 songs, all of which were amazing. From there, we walked around just taking everything in and then got in line for Anberlin's signing. Alisa didn't have anything to sign, she just wanted to give all the band members a hug, which I thought was cute and really meaningful because I know that their music has touched her. After she gave Stephen Christian a hug, he said, "That was awesome...more people should do that." I agree.

The other bands that we were able to see were Norma Jean, Lost Point, Every Time I Die, Anberlin (non-acoustic set), Reel Big Fish, Angels & Airwaves, and As I Lay Dying. I have to say that Anberlin was probably the highlight of the day! For their 2nd show, it was non-stop crowd-surfing; people were popping up all over the place. In fact, it was Alisa's first time ever surfing a crowd. I sent her up and about a minute and a half later, she finds me in the crowd and wants to go up again. It was just fun to see her having such a good time.

I've already decided that I have to go to Warped Tour every year from here on out. No question! ...because all in all, it was a pretty sweet day!
