For The One Or Two Moggers Who Like VNV Nation

Posted almost 5 years ago
Industrial/futurepop [insert your favorite genre/label here] duo VNV Nation will release their 5th full-length album entitled ??Judgement?? on April 10th [North American release date]. I've heard snippets of the album, and so far I only like track six - ??Nemesis?? and track nine - ??Carry You??. It doesn't seem to pack the harshly electronic punch that previous albums and had [**especially** ??Praise The Fallen??]. Song snippets for this album are available here. Here's a track from ??Praise The Fallen?? for the sake of comparison. As far as the promotion of their new album, they'll be touring with German act And One; they're North American dates are as follows: [courtesy of This Is Corrosion]North America (Part 1) - support act: And One 04/05/2007 USA Miami (FL) Studio A04/06/2007 USA St.Petersburg (FL) Jannus Landing04/07/2007 USA Atlanta (GA) Masquerade04/09/2007 USA Charlotte (NC) Tremont Music Hall04/10/2007 USA Norfolk (VA) NorVa04/12/2007 USA Washington DC (DC) 9:30 Club04/13/2007 USA Philadelphia (PA) Trocadero Theatre04/14/2007 USA New York (NY) Irving Plaza04/15/2007 USA New Haven (CT) Toads Place04/17/2007 USA Burlington (VT) Higher Ground04/18/2007 USA Boston Axis04/20/2007 USA Montreal (QC) Club Soda04/21/2007 USA Toronto (ON) The Docks04/22/2007 USA Detroit (MI) St. Andrews Hall04/24/2007 USA Cleveland (OH) Peabodys04/25/2007 USA Chicago (IL) Metro04/26/2007 USA Minneapolis, Minnesota04/27-29/2007 USA **"Coachella Festival"**

  1. Dale says Well, you've got one. I wouldn't say I'm a HUGE fan of VNV, but I do have two of their albums, and they are handy when there's an itch for heavy EBM that needs scratching. They're very good at what they do.

  2. Zeroskilz says I knew Dale would be all over this. There are others out there too (Universalis). Of course, IN remains the step-child of tour stops. That's only 4 days after the Kaiser Chiefs in Chicago. I don't think I'll be swinging that one. Thanks for posting.

  3. Dale says Indiana the step-child?!? Are you joking? Do you see a Kansas City or Oklahoma City stop there? Just right up the East coast, and hug the US-Canada border. GRRR

  4. Anna says I liked that song. I'm afraid to ask what that means...

  5. Dale says Oh, you know what that means, Ms. None-More-Black. I'll upload that Bauhaus right away. ;)

  6. rei says Sorry that I haven't had time to comment earlier: Dale: whudda thunk that you were into some EBM every now and then? My EBM archive is a mile wide and is going to get Multiplied at some point in time. Anna: it means that you like thumping bass. And..um...hmmm... you appear to like She Wants Revenge, which is a good cross between Andrew Eldritch, early Cure [circa "Faith"], and Joy Division [IMO]. What else do those bands have in common? Zero: they've played here in FL - in tiny yet congested Tampa even. They usually go where the goths and rivetheads are, but they're branching out and softening their sound a bit for more mainstream audiences.
