This original version of Remember Me from The Birthday Massacre features a somber ambiance, angsty lyrics and subtle vocals resigned to hopelessness. I personally prefer this version over the poppy reworked one found on 2007's Walking With Strangers.

It's safe to say that ambiance is important with everything it surrounds.touches etc.
I don't know the reworked version, but this one works pretty well for me.
