"Lies for the Liars" by The Used

The album starts off smooth with "The Ripper" and "Pretty Handsome Awkward", displaying the band's maturity with two danceable yet face-melting tracks. Sure, face-melting is an overused modifier but it definitely works in this case. Then we slow down a bit with, "The Bird and the Worm" and "Earthquake," which will inevitably do for The Used what "Miss You" did for Blink 182 and what "She Will Be Loved" did for Maroon 5 (You know that type of track.) And then, my favorite track on the album: "Paralyzed", with the band champions the use of the old "make the chorus sound so fucking catchy it makes the rest of the song sound perfect" technique. Then comes "With Me Tonight", with even more horn than "Paralyzed", making it sound almost... funky?!?! The rest of the album brings us two more exceptional harder tracks (with some crazy Whitney carrying on the "ave" in "...and the home of the brave" stuff in the middle of "Wake the Dead") and two more softer tracks, plus a bonus track titled "Quesadilla" which I'll leave for you to discover.8/10???
