Lost La's 1984-1986
-
Artist:
We all know of the Go Discs era La's and just before with the BBC sessions, but there is much more besides. For a band known for just one album (or could that be just one song?) it's no surprise that the majority of La's material remains out of touch. This unofficial bootleg comes with the following text:"The Story of the La's begins in 1984 when the name reveals itself to Mike Badger in a dream. A chance meeting with Lee Mavers sealed it's fate and over the next two years they co-wrote material which now appears here for the first time.Lifted from in most cases the only remaining copies that exist, recorded on portastudios 4-track machines and in some unique instances straight onto cassette decks, this material marks a unique and wonderfully creative time in the bands history.By the end of 1986 Mike and Lee went their seperate ways, Mike continuing to write and release music alongside exhibiting his artwork. Lee steering the La's on to establish them as one of the most influential bands of recent times."The sound is raw, demo and different from the La's we all know of. However the emphasis on chords, tunes and delivery is still there to be heard. The tracklisting is:Breakloose (live)Open Your HeartSweet 39Trees & PlantsRed Deer StalkDovecot DubNight WalkGet Down OverWhat Do You Do?I Did the PaintingMy Girl Sits Like a reindeerMoney in your talkYou BlueMoonlightIn the next couple of days I should be receiving the BBC Sessions and will feedback on those.
