One of my favorite country tracks from the 90's. Hal has a way or delivery that seems so natural as if he is never really straining... just telling you a story... painting the picture...all the while letting you decide what you feel. More often than not, it resulted in some great songs... many of which like I Miss My Mary tend to feel more like a folk singer trying to rid himself of the chains of the commercial country shackles.
