I know you can do better

Ok so I think this is the worst Clash song ever...but, I like it. I think I like it because this is the first Clash song I ever heard and my fist thought was "this noise is like nothing I've ever heard before" It is also their best known song, here in the US anyway. So that being said I have some questions for you, my fellow moggers. Are their artists you love so much that you even like the songs that aren't their best? What Artist? What Song?Do you think that the worst song by an artist is often the most popular? If so is this because mainstream radio is afraid to take chances?Or do most people just have crappy taste? (fellow moggers excluded of course) Ok now discuss.

  2. Anna says Placebo. They could be singing for plastic kittens eating tomatoes on a banana tree & I'd still find the song epic. I'm not naming songs though! Mainstream is mainstream. Rules, profit, catchy, mass. It's not that people have crappy taste. It's that they are exposed to some crappy stuff.

  3. Joxley says I'd say Bruce Springsteen is probably most famous (in the mainstream at least) for some of his less good songs

  4. Redvers Gerund says Do you really think 'Rock the Casbah' is the worst Clash song ever? Should I be giving Cut The Crap another spin?

  5. tnstranger says The Stones have some stinkers in the 70's and 80's i can't resist... I'd list them but i would be here all day. Let's say GHS-Tattoo You.

  6. punkbunni says Redvers maybe I should clarify my thinking here no Mick Jones = No Clash. And they could call the band whatever they want I'm not down with the Clash II thing. Cut the Crap, is a Joe Strummer solo album.

  7. punkbunni says Joxley I totally agree with you, his best albums didn't sell well. particularly Nebraska. Anna now I want to hear Placebo singing for plastic kittens eating tomatoes on a banana tree, I think it might be interesting.
