I hear ya. Round here, since the factories have mostly shut down and the banks have all been robbed, the top news feature is the possibility of rain. Great tune, been awhile there...thanks for the reminder!
You got it. Diggin' the avatar. Very choice.
thanks. they like the screamin' 'round these parts. your blue squishy has sucked all his body into his 'do.
Great tune, PM! Y'know....I'm beginning to accept the underdog role we've been thrown into. I ain't got much, but I managed to be born after WWII, I too young for Vietnam, I was safely under my parents protection during late 70's inflation, etc... This is my first big crisis, and somehow....I see light at the end of the tunnel. But it's gonna take commitment, hard work, and responsible behavior. Basically, a whole different take on reality, or perhaps more appropriately, a recognition of reality. Tough times ahead? Yes. But I think the world has been changing for awhile, and our culture is too busy Dancing With the Stars, kicking contestants off islands, and being hopelessly consumed with living life vicariously through freaks on reality tv that are undeserving of our attention to realize that our empire is straining under the weight of our inactivity.
So let's all get our game faces on and react like the mongrels we are (we ARE descendent from Vikings, after all), and carve out a new formation. This shit happens in cycles, and fortune will always favor the bold. So let's get to it.
Well, I really wanted to say that I really got a kick out of the song you posted. I'll hop down off my soapbox now!!!! But thank you for making me think. You too, Scott.
*grabs nordico's soap box and hops on*
First off I am a single, white, middle class male with a good job, so I am not feeling the hard times many are, but... We need this, we need this to force us to change. Our excess, our irresponsibilty, our indifference that we have slowly acquired and grown accustomed to through our years of prosperity are destroying us. Atleast that's how I see it.
*hops off*
And Nice track.
*pounding on the soap box*
Change, indifference, a few of many things that "America" can't seem to face up to. The change that is so desperately needed here is always snuffed because the population as a whole doesn't want to change unless someone will do it for them. Always need a hand holder. Somebody to tell us what to do. Christ, Obama has to tell us to wash our hands. It's pathetic. It's sad. No one is willing to take the risk of being responsible. Afraid of hard work. Always fearfull that someone will point the finger in their direction.
Nothing will get done while people in the "old" way sit in positions of power either. Throw money at the problem, blame it on violent video games, let workers be exploited for one's own gain, send in more troops, it's the Republican media, it's the Democratic media, let's get a new American to idolize, my god is better than your god. Rubbish!
Unity. True unity. A people as one with the idea of a better tomorrow and the balls to see it through. How many should die at the intersection of America before they'll put up a damn stop sign? If we can't trust other people, how can we trust a god and a government that we ourselves have created. Its time to return to the position of land of opportunity. A land of truely free men( and women) whose basic human rights will always hold a greater position of importance. No longer should we fear our government, they should fear its people!

Thanks Random.
