Let me start by saying that these guys are insane. By that, I mean it in every musical way possible. The speed at which these guys play is simply mind boggling. Add to that a healthy dose of rhythmic complexity? Are you kidding? Fabulous, if you like Grindcore, and I do, especially when it's as well produced as this album is. It's almost as if they asked each other to write the craziest riffs they

Machine Head

They're back!Machine Head's newest release is definitely a force to be reckoned with in this, the age of the New Wave of American Heavy Metal. They've gone to their roots with this album, and it shows. Judging from the first song, 'Clenching the Fists of Dissent,' it's clear that they were thinking, 'let's make a heavy fucking record.' They have accomplished this. The guitar work can be a bit o...

Mors Principium Est

Ahem. Mors Principium Est is one of the best Melodic Death Metal bands I have ever heard. I got ahold of 'Liberation Termination' a few weeks ago, and I listened to this album, and this album only for like 9 days straight. I can't get over them, it's like a damn middle school crush. If you like Dimmu Borgir, Soilwork, or any other decent melodic Death/Black metal band, you need to hear these guys.

I got ahold of this album sometime during the summer, but I only listened sparingly (i.e. when the song came up in WMP at random). Then, last month, I decided to burn a random metal cd to listen to in my car, and I chose these guys. Wise muthafuckin choice yallz. These guys fucking rock. Let's start with the first song, Eradication. Don't listen to this song while you're trying to relax. Listen...

These guys have been a back-pocket band for me for a long time. Let me count the ways I love this band. I first heard of them during a 40 Below Summer show, when Max Illidge (singer for 40 Below) introduced Shawn (singer for Gizmachi) to join him in singing in [probably] 40 Below's heaviest song: Step into the Sideshow. Well, I was blown away at his vocal ability immediately. The next time I saw 4

Well, I'm glad to have had the chance to listen to these guys, essentially. I'd never heard of them until a couple of days ago, when I heard the lineup of the newest Lamb of God tour (Check it out, it's going to be insane). The vocals have an interesting blend of simultaneous screaming and sing, as the first song, 'The Link' can attest to, along with some serious melodic 'chorus/bridge' deals. The
