Madonna is apparently paying tribute to "Dimebag" Darrell Abbott by playing what sounds a lot like the main riff to Pantera's classic song "A New Level" during her May 10, 2008 performance at Radio One's Big Weekend at Mote Park in Maidstone, UK.

I am way too old to watch ‘Gossip Girl,’ but a friend of mine was on last night’s episode, and I said I’d tune in, so I did. It’s like “Cruel Intentions” meets “Melrose Place,” with a bit of “Heathers” and “Mean Girls,” and from what I was able to piece together, one of the dads in the show was in a rock band in the ‘90s, and he has a whole lot of LP’s in his Brooklyn apartment (most of the other characters seem to live in lavish hotel suites or upper east side townhouses). If there was one album this past year I was inspired to get because it received great reviews across the board...it was the Kills' Midnight Boom.
