The have been a number of artists over the past few years who have played an album its entirety live, but Sparks have a gone a little bit further.... The Sparks Spectacular will be taking place in London from May 16th through to June 13th with one album per night being played, starting with 1971's album 'Halfnelson'. The only concession made to man's physicality is that, whilst the order of the albums will be chronological, there will be some days off during the run! Hav... MORE

Here's a song by Israeli pop singer Efrat Gosh in honor of her performance at this year's official national Independence Day ceremonies (which were two day ago). I almost managed to write that sentence with a straight face. What I mean is that after hearing her perform Wednesday night, I looked for footage of it on Youtube to see if it could possibly be as horrible as I remembered. Didn't find it, but did stumble across some other songs of hers I recognized from th... MORE

Gonna tag team my friend tipi here - he put up a great post with an awesome photo and review on the 2008 Jammy's, here's the video and audio on that. I believe he's still on the road - so hope you don't mind me tag teaming here! Warren Haynes and Grace Potter Co-hosted and performed these to gems to kick off the show along with Joe Russo, Booker T. and Will Lee.... MORE

1. Ian Hunter, "Once Bitten Twice Shy." After Mott the Hoople, Hunter teamed up with Mick Ronson of the Spiders from Mars. This was the first song from the first solo album ... it starts with Ian saying "Hallo." I guess you never know what will stick in people's minds ... despite four decades of fine work, Hunter is probably best-known in America for "Cleveland Rocks," which was used in the Drew Carey Show. And the Great White version of this song is likely more famous than t... MORE

she's tight and all, but.....the emo guitar/synthtar player (Zinner) is amazing. i heard that dude once got the shit beat out of him by a dude that was banging his girlfriend, yet he still cut himself with a broken stella artois bottle just to feel something 'real'!!!...too far???? seriously though, the nerdy/super ill drummer (Chase) is ridiculously out of every rock drummer's league....not to mention that his skills were honed at Oberlin in NE Ohio!!! WHAT WHAT WH... MORE

Country Feedback is one of my favourite REM tracks, ever, and I've been a fan of the Red Hot Chili Peppers for over 20 years now (ugh! I feel old!).
To be pointed in the direction of this 2001 video of RHCP guitarist John Frusciante performing this REM song, was, eh, heavenly, to say the least.
In all honesty, it turned out not the best possible rendition of this song I had ever imagined, but nonetheless, still fills my heart with warmth. Enjoy.

I had the pleasure of booking these guys a few months back. Surprisingly enough, I fell in love with the singer's voice. Since the venue was rather small, his vocal power overwhelmed the entire place. They put on a great show.
Check them out on MySpace at:

Killer Mike isn't one of my favorite rappers just because he makes good music. Killer Mike is a favorite of mine because he's shown that he's one of the most intelligent artists in hip hop music. Just by hearing him speak in interviews, you can tell that he truly "gets it". In this video he touches on a ton of topics, namely why he thinks Andre 3000 and Cee-Lo are hurting hip hop (yup....now you HAVE to watch it). for anyone interested, I featured Mike's ... MORE

Amy Winehouse and Lily Allen who? 2008 is shaping up to be the year of one-name (sober-er) wonders, namely Welsh songstress Duffy and Swedish pop sensation Robyn. Both ladies have been playing the late night talk show circuits recently. Robyn however, just got booked to perform on ABC 's The View Thursday, May 15th, leading her to postpone two shows (Portland on May 13 at Berbati's Pan and Seattle May 14 at Neumos.) Dayum! I would have never thought ol' Barbara Wal... MORE
