Born Lupe Victoria Yoli Raymond in December 1936 was one of the fieriest performers in the history of "Latin" music. Not onlywas she a dangerously sexy perfoprmer, during her heyday she remained an adherent of the Santeria cult, which involved the worship of a pantheon of gods - not something likely to engender much sympathy in much of the USA. she died in 1992, having converted to Christianity late in life. This is her version of "Fever"
