I know this will not be news to most, it seems punk music gets swept under the rug a lot here on MOG. Big news today though, Dillinger Four have finally set an official date for the release of their new album titled Civil War. That would make it almost 6 years since the boys of D4 have released an album, and seeing they are one of my favorite bands it couldn't come at a better date. I tend to avoid local shows. Most of the local bands are trying too hard to be "metalXcore" and most of the kids that go are just scene kids that are too cool for school. Meaning; they're pretentious little pricks. Yesterday, however, was an eye-opening experience. I was invited to go to a show put on by a few bands my friend Dott assured me were "amazing". The summer is officially over for me, tomorrow I head back in to start another year of teaching. Granted the kids dont arrive for another two weeks, but I know this is my last night as a "free" man.
