Sing it Like You Mean it

There's been a huge shift in popular music from the '90s to now. It seems as though artists are focusing more on lyrics and letting the music fall second. What's nice about this is that the music exists as a frame around the words. People are now looking for something they can relate to musically and songs that have no meaning but just a catchy hook aren't cutting it anymore. Yay.

    ROCKNROLLPIMP1 says nice observation.but personally i think this only applies to ARTISTS and not money makers top 40/popsters my observation has been that 99% of the music i have liked has an endearing poetic quality in the lyrics then there just that stuff that just SOUNDS GOOD! WELCOME TO MOG WORLD THEN!
