Found dead in his home at 55. One of the great voices of rock 'n' roll is gone
It's too bad Boston kind of lapsed into a second-rate imitation of themselves because for their first two records, they really were an amazing band. And yeah, i know, Tom Scholz gets all the credit, but Brad Delp was an incredible singer. In later years, he fronted a Beatles cover band based in Boston, called Beatlejuice. I saw them once and was blown away. They weren't a cheesy Sgt Pepper-style band; instead it was just five shaggy guys in t-shirts and jeans doing note-for-note recreations of songs from every era of the Beatles, with Delp doing *all* the lead vocals. And doing pitch-perfect imitations of John, Paul, George, and Ringo. It was hard to believe he was the same guy who sang "More Than a Feeling."Anyway, he'll be missed.
