these tunes are made for walking

Posted over 2 years ago
i've been getting into the habit of walking around Phnom Penh on Sunday afternoons.i make three regular stops: 1- Sisowath Quay aka the riverside for all-day brekkie, CDs, DVDs, books, pharmacy stuff; 2- Street 240 for coffee, more books, the fancy salon and boutiques, and the cheap internet cafe (to ease the load on my company-paid WiFi at home); Sihanouk Boulevard for the cheaper salon and Lucky Supermarket (always my last stop before heading home).in between those stops it's fair game; when i need a break from walking, i take a motodup or tuktuk. so i thought i'd share with you some of my accompanying sounds for the day's meandering.aimless walking mix (v.030607)Big Day Coming : Yo La Tengo : PainfulBlueskies : Soma Sonic : FutureWest Coast : Coconut Records : NighttimingQuay Street : Polytechnic : Down Til DawnI Can See for Miles : The Who : The Who Sell OutHungry Mouth : Nurses : Hangin' Nothin' But Our Hands DownRebiana Sand Sea : Muslimgauze : MeltTraveller (4 Hero's Dollis Hill Futebol Mix) : Talvin Singh : TravellerHope the Light : The Furze : Subterranean KicksHighway 49 : John Lee Hooker & Big Joe Williams : Meet Me Around the CornerDirty Blvd. : Lou Reed : New YorkChan Chan : Buena Vista Social Club (feat. 3. poebegone says gerekriss! good choices. Transatlanticism is my favorite DCfC tune, and i completely love Voxtrot and BDB. definitely check out Ambray - lots of awesome stuff for playing dressup. 3)

  7. poebegone says the CD store isn't much but it's my best option. Boom Room and Russian Market are more exciting places to buy CDs. yeah traveling rocks, it opens you up and gives you quite another kind of high.
