relocating to another city in another country. stop. spending momentary life on finishing all pending work, and dividing personal stuff between luggage and parents' house - as i have had to give up my apartment, too. stop. taking serious thinking time deciding what books and boots not to bring because they are heavy and/or take up too much space. stop. talk to you all MOG lovelies past February 27th. full stop.

  4. mickimicki says Ahh, thats what you've been up to... moving sucks, relocating sucks more... I had to choose and pack 50 kilo for me and my son a few years back - 50 kilos for A YEAR, everything else had to be put in "storage", i.e., at various friends and relatives' houses.... so I can imagine what you're going through right now. My advice would be: use the opportunity to get rid of "dead weight". This way, you'll feel "free as a bird" in your new habitat... for a few months... until things start accumulating _again_... Good Luck Poe, my girl!

  8. kristiana says you probably really don't need the books, unless it's a special edition/translation you just cannot live without - even still, you'll still probably be able to find it wherever you are...? Same with clothes, take a few favorites, and have fun replenishing your wardrobe in your new city! Boots, on the other hand. I do understand the importance of a good pair of boots ;)

  9. poebegone says Hi, all, and long time no hear back to me. I am going to Phnom Penh, Cambodia. This newer post has all its detailed mundanity. Kristiana: You got it. Good boots are as hard to find as a good man, perhaps harder. (8

  10. kristiana says Hahaha! Yep. You're going to Cambodia! Oh man, Cambodia is one of my favorite places! I mean, I only spent a couple of weeks there, but it was great. I'll have to go check out your link. Spent a coupla days in Phnom Penh, I seem to recall a couple of decent bookstores. We stayed at one of those pothead places built out over the lake, it was kinda cool but also kinda boring after a day as everyone was outta there trees on the good weed, lol. Oh yeah - don't know if you're into it, but also the best weed I've ever had, and so cheap. It was like Shangrai-fuckin-la. Ya know, except for the orphans and amputees, etc. Wonderful, bright children there! Stunning people, survivors. I want to go back so badly. Thought about doing some volunteer work there, I assume maybe that's what you're going to do? If you're flying into Bangkok, they got Boots boutiques on Khao San road and all over, where you can stock up on that sorta stuff for cheap.

  11. poebegone says kristiana: amen, about the weed there! hehe. one of my best friends has lived in Cambodia for almost a decade, and brings me way too much weed whenever he comes home to the Philippines for vacations. you're totally right, it's awesome. another friend (incidentally, the ex-girlfriend of my 'weed' buddy) will be in Bangkok in April, and we're planning to spend a weekend there. she tells me she must bring me to Khao San for lots of cheap-but-great stuff, and yes, boots! =D
