THE MUSIC BLOGGING HIVE MIND

happy new suffix

Posted 10 months ago

Hey, I am waving my hand from another thousand antidotes yet to be told. I guess I got here without trying and found you a seat right next to paperback novels and a bottle of something.

He says: Dream, baby, forever.

She says: Won't come for those who wait.

I am not too hopeful to keep a lottery ticket in my secret pocket but we can share firecracked skies. It's going to be alright.

Jeff - stay present in this universe of the music-crazed and i'm certain it'll be happy.

Dave - i went to sleep at 2 am. pretty darn early even for the usual night. it's 5 minutes to your midnight now, sweet dreams.

Scott - mine was raining and like 5 minutes of tentative fireworks sounds but wine flowed so i'd say a blast yeah.

Nick - you have me off to a giddy-great start of the year (and morning). a happy '09 to the Dzendvokh fam!

Yikes, poe, your newest "incarnation of Vishnu" is eerily reminiscent of one of the fables of Brother Rabbit that Toni Morrison and I were recently looking into.  Uncannily, suffixes were also crossing my mind as of late, which is unusual, as I am usually preoccupied with prefixes.  In a couple of hours I will be joining you in the new year, I am sure you have been keeping it warm for me...  As for the old year, I will continue to keep the mean BAC well above the legal limit for you, 'til the bitter end, as it were...

Matt - mortalized into the newism a voodoofied tar baby ball of yarn, ish. speaking of time zones, you are indeed about to traverse. find the vacant rocking chair with your letter on it, in case it was a long (and wobbly) walk. (8

They passed a law in my town, for the upcoming years, that people may not smoke in bars, henceforth.  I feel it my duty, then, even though I have been tobacco free for some months, to head to my local corner bar (Yorgo's) and smoke away the rest of the year.  It will be a wobbly walk, for sure, but the stakes is high, and I can't risk the shame of going gently into that adjectival night.  I'm gonna punch that tar and turpentine baby, and then hug it, and then come home coughing it out of my lungs.  It will be the best end to the worst year...  See you on the next shuttle!

    "He says: Dream, baby, forever."

Is it me, or is that so much better than an "I love you"????

Happy New Year to my very favorite writing e-sister; your words always make my mind more abstract and colorful.  I can't thank you enough for that!

Uh, yeah. Most happy of them unto you. And nice triple-sound-feature from some worthies. So would you rather have El Perro in the hand or two in Kate Bush?

Aug - champagne? you are high-maintenance and so am i - you keep putting up with my craziness and i keep refilling the crystal.

Matt - that's a shame. i was tobacco free for a year, twice, but i'd be hard-pressed to imagine smokes and bars not going together. unlike drinking away, you can smoke away and not board the wrong shuttle so a wise decision all in all.

Amber - agreed. i have come to encounter several better phrases than that one, with the same gravity of meaning.

LMI - yay to fearlessness and vulnerability, they're made for each other like a wing and another.

Mike - that's a toughie. Kate Bush and i go waaay back, and i have personal attachment heaps to Hounds of Love, but Sarah also most certainly Assbrings it.

Van - i am hanging on tight, to be sure. falling probably has its advantages, too, until you hit the ground.

Funny, I know I looked at that picture at least somewhat critically when I first saw this post, but somehow I didn't recognize that suit, and that instrument, whatever it is, and that it is a still from one of my favorite movies of all time.  Funny, a passing glance today, however, and I recognized it immediately.  Funny

thanks, Matt. i could not have found a better reaction to the still than this dynamite harmonium music. i lost the DVD to some bad ending but have the captures somehow, strange how that works; movie's gone, pictures stubborn. it's been an awful week overall but it's nice to return to tiny bits of faith restoration or something like that.
