I've seen the future and it's persistent

Posted over 2 years ago

Here we go again, pausing to catch up with one another on a night to be navigated alone. Here we go orbiting the interchange -not crossing completely, not right away- until reaching the point at which we fall into place, and who or what fell next to us is both arbitrary and meaningful. I don't know what that's called but it belongs to everyone of us.

I am here, aren't I? I trust you to get here unscathed. I do not promise to wait up but there's old letters on the hearth, firewater on the table, and bravery on the back burner. It will be fascinating what we are taking along with us, picking up along the way, coming up with next. I, being timezones older, know it all gets sorted out afterwards. You'll see.

With tomorrow, I will borrow
another moment of joy and sorrow

If you'll only let me try
Let me try

    You know, I haven't given This Mortal Coil much of a listen and from these two songs I can see why. Not feeling them at this moment but that could change down the road. Oh wait, I see the 2nd track is from MC5.

    Well I'm giving This Mortal Coil another chance on the mog player. Hmmm, not feeling what I'm hearing there either. Maybe it's just my mood at the moment.

    Happy New Year, Moggies!

    Jeff, high water, for real? Yikes, stay afloat. It was a pretty alright year, was it not? Good enough, anyway, for me to aim for better. Bring on the riffin' for 2010.

    Helen, I am wishing for happy kinds of crazy for us both. Especially, the kind that inspires, uhrm, more MOG blogging perhaps. Catch up with ya in 2010, sistah.

    Spike 1, very well put. 'tis the beauty of the great circle / sphere, we know we'll cross paths at some point. Looking forward to finding more of your musings this year.

    Aug, as long as it was a good mood for the change of years, then that's quite alright. All in all, I feel great to be Mogging with you for yet another year, pink linkie. (;

    I suppose TMC is somewhere on the opposite end of something like Cocteau Twins in the spectrum, gothic rock going towards Nineties dream pop and slowcore in a very languid way.

    Mike, your wish is mine as well. I will take it up with the protectors of calendar years high council if our paths do not cross. Otherwise, I am happy to read ya for another 365.

    GB2, I do love me some MC5, and while the above is one of their slower tunes, I quite like it. Have a happy 2010, may our differences keep things interesting. (8

    So, sorted out it will be, eh?  Thank for plunging ahead of us into the Teens and alleviating my anxieties about the unknown future.  The soothing songs helped as well.

    Charles, I was visualizing the sorting out into fruition, anyway. So far, the unknown future's been just as I expected--a segue into another unknown, farther future. With that, I hope you are enjoying the present. (:

    That I am.  You just added "fruition" to my noun collection, ready to be sprinkled into unusual though appropriate contexts that it has coveted, but has instead been blocked from by unalert sprinklers.  Now to remember to let it unblock me.

    Your present avatar greets us enthusiastically with bright eyes and open arms, your tresses pulled horizontal by the invisible gale.

    Charles, i found the avatar in question through a Google Images search using the keywords "voodoo doll". i thought it amusing that the fruition of my search led to one heck of an optimistic, big-hearted, welcoming voodoo doll. :}

    Voodoo's exotic menace attracts us, but its swarthy inventors founded it to be their friend.

    Too pretty dolls, on the other hand, tend to scare me. My, how lines are blurred. (8

    Juxtaposing a shaped, colored surface of beauty posing as life, with the dead chemical material of which it consists, creates an exciting tension between the forces that bring them together and the forces that pull them apart.
