WHERE MUSIC LISTENS TO YOU

you'll never guess what today is

Posted about 1 month ago

This post exists humbly as a shout-out to November third, an ordinary day, and one having the misfortune of being very noticeably ordinary. Moreover, what sets it apart from the other remarkably humdrum day, January second, is that it is the day many families, like mine, put the tree up and pertinent décor, that awkward segue from blood red to Christmas red, which we know is a fine line blurred by candle lighting craziness, ghosts, and harrowing traffic. November third, we get up to lumber out into the world on tired feet and come back home without a plan. We look up to the implied-sky ceiling and submit that it's real life we live less often at this time of year.

So, to anyone who's celebrating a birthday / anniversary / anything at all today, chin up, chin up. The day's all yours, baby, nothing's going on.

That was a trick statement; music's going on, yo! The Bordeaux, France duo Kap Bambino has got the day-appropriate tunage, remixed and sounding like Crystal Castles, expectedly. What's also creepy is that I totally hear Inertia Creeps (maybe it's just me) in both tracks posted here, the second one from the never dismissible The Devil, You + Me.

That Neill is always ahead of the curve w/new music, he's such a trendsetter!

Liking this alot, hadn't heard of them, somehow I missed Neill's post but thank goodness you've aided my slacker life by filling in this gap!

I don't hear CC so much as She Wants Revenge, which is a great thing in my book.

in the season of the holiday, it is nice to appreciate the ordinary days, those humble dates sans title. we don't ask much from them, yet every year, there they are. ipso facto: just as long as we don't need to make a name up for this one too! diggin the avatar poe!

notwist is working as desired and has increased my lowlevel waking angst to full blown tremors...or it could be coffee's fault

.........This reeks of 80's synthrock...whatever that conjurs....with 21st century by way of psychedelic sixties little squigs & zeeps poking round the edges.  I mean, it would b fun stoned under the headphones, (from what i've been told.)  So i guess.....but not something i'd play everyday.

Aug, yeah, that Neill! i had a feeling you'd be into this, yay. and thanks for the video. funny! reminds me of an old Moby video but i can't remember for which song.

ooh, She Wants Revenge. good 'un! yep, i certainly hear the similarity.

Rob, for as long as we're talking about someone's lowlevel waking angst becoming full blown tremors, i'd really love to be able to say it was all my fault. ;d

Pimpy, ding ding ding! you saved the day! and win bragging rights. :D

Jeff, funny, whoever told you the fun stoned under the headphones thing, they told me, too. (8

Dave, KB are promising, i am happy to re-introduce 'em. 3)
