Don't hurt yourself acting surprised- real life cramped my style this year. I've had zero access to music that's new to me for reasons that shall henceforth be grouped into listlessness followed by indigence. Or ice cream followed by no ice cream, whichever. And for a long while there, neither could I partake of what you were sharing freely.
I learned from this insipid phase that I am like the dying battery that wouldn't die. Which, if you're a flashlight or the remote, is just agonizing. Yeah, I'm still here even when I got nothing.
In fact, I won't go away even when I announced rather dramatically that I will go away. Awkward.
Aawh well, there's plenty of reasons I stick around like fly on paper. I mean, it's October and South Africa via Australia via Chicago's Tania Bowers has a new bunch of musey, so-called "moon pop" out that may know how to put restless cells to rest. Whether you like it or not, it's for you because you've been patient with me. Which, if you're a pre-paid SIM and I'm a customer service hotline, is plain impressive. (It's a long story with no happy ending.)
Via Tania's sophomore album Moon Sweet Moon (October 2009, Love & Mercy) was completed in 2007 and lately re-magicized (not a word) by producer Craig Ross (Spoon, Daniel Johnston, Emmylou Harris); including collaborations with Tortoise, Lara Meyerratken (El May and Ben Lee's band), and Shearwater.

She stays so still in the first one (blue players neat). The second one is just spooky, in a good way. I love her nails. Intersting you bring up that the Spoon guy produced. I can hear that. Like..
2009! Sheesh, I've barely gotten through 1979.
She's obviously been influenced heavily by Bjork. She has a unique voice though. Thx for the intro.
And I'm so glad you keep coming back, you are a delight.
hmmmmm. On a Friday morning
I did not miss the "musey" ref, because Tania smacks smartly of another of your emcd's, last year's Little Jinder...esp that second track...delicious. salad days never go away...and why should you agonize over difficulty staying away from the most interesting crew on the planet? I'm just saying...
I'm loving it. Thanks Poe!
"moon pop". interesting....a new name in the "pop" genre? It certainly suits her music. Always enjoy your presence here. We all seem to come and go thru the MOG-o'-sphere, don't we? Glad your still here!
At least you have your memories. I enjoy being patient with you.
cool. entrancing voice that caught me from the first seconds. thanks for sticking around :)
loving them both, thanks for this
Ding ding ding! Cody with the sharp hearing, the girl with the spookilicious nails' music is rightly reminiscent of Spoon's faintly fuzzy melodies.
August my other smartly eared friend, the gal truly is a bit of Bjork and also a bit of Emiliana Torrini, who herself sounds like a friendlier Bjork.
Jeff, I'd love to say it's to mix things up a little but really it's because I'm dependent on what days I can do more things online.
Aha, the previous muses posts, of course. Scott, those three were relatively new then, perhaps I could revisit them soon.
Jameson, hey, long time no read. Yep, she certainly shows a lot of promise (and her new producer rocked those songs, too).
Blue Meenie, aw I appreciate the kind words. Tania's camp seems to have coined the fairly catchy term "moon pop" for her a-touch-electro dream pop.
Charles, I'm afraid you'll have to continue on with the perseverance because I'm not done making memories with my beloved Trusteds.
Ardy, thanks for constantly returning, yourself! I agree, her voice is doubtless one of her strengths as she grows into her own sound.
Kevin, glad you likey! On account of both tracks, I am certainly looking forward to checking out the entire album.
