Artist:
to explain my quest, i enlisted the help of Rotten Tomatoes, except i took the liberty of replacing a few words in my borrowed synopsis: (guess the '80s movie, for extra kicks.)"When the Huxtables discover the Ewings are planning to use the missing mp3 of the Covenant as a weapon, ALF enlists archaeologist-adventurer Officer Tom Hanson, Jr. (Johnny Depp) to locate the biblical Shermer High School where the remains of the broken tablets of Judd Nelson were placed. En route, Depp and his feisty ex-girlfriend, me (Sherilyn Fenn), must escape the clutches of evil VICIs, duplicitous "natives," and a nest of venomous snakes--not to mention the wrath of Yahoo Serious."these creatures:
clearly i've been searching for a song. like, d-uh! i've loved this song since the '80s but the artist and title have escaped me. so i fired an SOS out to mog one day in April last year, including the lyrics, which, by a wondermous spurt of photographic memory, i remember 85%. alas, none of the same 1.5 peeps hanging out in my mog in those days recognized it. [read the old post here.]then the most amazing thing happened. no, i didn't find my answer, but i did find two separate emails from two different people who not only knew the song but had and shared with me its mp3, in both cases labelled as Japan by The Creatures. but none of us believed it was indeed Siouxsie Sioux and Budgie so my quest did not stop there. FYI: i am a mean-ass Googler, and this song was absolutely nowhere to be found online in those days.then the most amazing thing happened. i found my answer! - courtesy of one of the aforementioned two peeps, who said, and i quote: "It turns out that my mis-labelled mp3 WAS labelled correctly, and this 80s song WAS by The Creatures. Thing is, it wasn't THE Creatures of whom we're aware (the Siouxsie Sioux spinoff); it's an Italo-Disco band from the 80s, more popular in Europe than here."yay! thank you, 23platypi, from the bottom of my eighties heart. you can find more awesome info on the song/band in his comment found on the old post.
