  5. soulrocket says poe, the 12" mix was a massive hit on the discos of my city back then. and i mean HUGE. ive seen them 3 times live. happy halloween to you too.

  6. Dale says So jealous of Danny right now. 3 times?!? Gaaah! I do love me some Killing Joke.

  7. asrati says Seems like this would have been up my alley at the time, but this is the first Killing Joke track I've heard. The poebegone seal of approval does carry some weight.

  8. poebegone says dmdm: hey man yeah. leftoverking: i, too, am a victim. i wrote only "happy halloween" but then mog slapped me with the 10 word minimum, so i had to cough up that whole thing about first buy. walkingthecow: i soooooo agree. it is a classic. (: dachmo: LOL see 2 comments up. mind you, the bootleg cassette tape of Night Time back then cost me 50 pesos (1 USD today).

  9. poebegone says soulrocket: your city must have been pretty damn cool for LLB to be a massive hit on the discos. only a handful knew about it in my city. Dale: i am jealous along with you. never seen KJ even once, don't think i ever will. (among other things for which i am jealous of Danny. =p) asrati: as with walkingthecow, Night Time is the best introduction to the band and the music. i suspect the great seal of the USA may be a bit weightier. 10. soulrocket says valencia was something else in the 80s. you could go to discos and dance to bands like alien sex fiend, gun club, the cramps, residents, alan vega, .... the list is endless. those bands came to the city a lot of times and their concerts were massive. i could only catch the end of that era, but it was worthy. after that it was a change to bands like front 242, nitzer ebb,.. that kind of sound.

  11. scotfree says So, I guess you took the lead right out of the gate. I'm not to informed on KJ, but this is a great start! Your Halloween posts were fab-u-lessss!!

  12. soulrocket says this is the 12" version, 2 extra minutes of guitar hooks, pounding drums & glorious bass lines. enjoy! ~8tBpOBkVte6.mp3~

  14. goodmusiconly says What a great album ... I love Killing Joke. Why I have never replaced my vinyl of this is beyond me - it's a situation that must be remedied stat. Thanks for the post, Poe.

  15. poebegone says soulrocket: practically all my friends who have stayed in Spain swear by its beauty so i'm definitely going there someday; must include Valencia in itinerary. The Gun Club, ASF, Nitzer Ebb, how rockin'. the extra minutes in the 12" are so well worth the listen, brings back old dance floor memories of mine, too. scotfree: loved your Halloween posts myself. nowhere near as fabulous as your avatar. man the best avatars on the net are here on mog and i really like the ones y'all had for halloween week. Lizzie: girl, the '80s were mighty fine no matter what everyone else says, and i love all your posts of that decade. KJ isn't as "fun" as Xanadu, something we have in common (wink), but glad to have brought 'em to your attention. goodmusiconly: wow, you have the vinyl, that is way cool. i remember Kate posting about "ripping" vinyl into mp3 months ago. if only to have a spare copy you can play to death, do it stat. (:

  16. goodmusiconly says I hope to embark on that mission (converting vinyls) soon. I work from home and listen to music all day, but the "V-drive" doesn't fit onto my desk very well. ;)

  17. poebegone says "I work from home and listen to music all day" - Oh, how I want to murder you. ;p
