For all the NYC/Tri-state people - there's going to be a free all-day music festival at Central Park's Summerstage (Rumsfield Park)... probably the last nice outdoor event of the year, and I couldn't ask for a better way to spend the afternoon than a free concert with Talib Kweli.It's all part of a big East-meets-West music festival that our group Cut&Paste is producing, and actually the Japanese talent is just as phenomenal: HIFANA makes live breakbeat, MIGHTY CROWN does serious dancehall, and PEZ is a crazy jazz fusion band (a la Tortoise, Koop). Did I mention A-Trak is going to rip it up with a turntablism set? He's Kanye West's DJ and the youngest DMC champ who won it at the age of 15. (He's allgrownsup now.)This is going to be a great day in the park, regardless of whether you like hiphop, it will be a real spectacle, with lots of added attractions and freebies from some rich-ass sponsors.
