nice...near half of that I've never dug into, so 'twill be a fine revelation I'm sure. So many glorious spins, yet still only 24 hrs per cycle..ppffft!
I think the Lord Buckley will scare most off this one, but it is what it is.
My Dad played this all the time
My buddy Ned had this on 8-track...
Another one I got from my pops
The first LP I bought with my own money..still remember watching the vids on Night Flight..
Found This One In My High School Library
Oooh, my first 12"
My high School Buddy blew my mind with this..
The first of these I heard on CD..I had only heard of the meters at the time..it was about my 10th CD. My cover didn't look like this..I had an Ace Records comp of their Josie material..
Although the Eric b And Rakim album was huge, it was the 12" of Eric B is President that really did it for me..the 12" version is not what appears on the original LP..
In a full circle thing, I actually introduced Mr. Waits new direction to my dad, and we both came to enjoy it..
More later....
Coming down from a doozy of a bad trip, I heard this and I've been facinated with and fortified by NOLA ever since..
I reconnected with a great friend over this one..
Same friend was a huuuuuge Zappa freak..I was initiated
This one solidified JB as my main man..
This was probably the last essential hip hop record for me, I guess after about 10 years of hard core hip hop study, I moved away from the day to day goings on of the genre
I got fully into the records that made hip hop in the late 80's and this one never disappoints as a sample piece or as an album by itself. My first real crate dig..from a New London,CT -Salvation Army
A little publicized comeback record that absolutely blew my socks off, becoming an all time favorite
At a real rough time in my life this record provided a lot of solace..
Came to this through the Blood And Fire reissue and it immediately shot to the top of my all time reggae charts and challanged for the top overall..sublime
Another one that just snuck up on me, grabbed, and wouldn't let go..
Something my wife and I share..I gave it to her after I gave up on it, then she gave it back to me and it stuck
thanks cody - great post
Some of 'em are tough to make..but this one was easy.
Thank you, MT.
This playlist was amazing Cody B! I think I loved absolutely every second of it so I'm going to make my own playlist with the same theme to show my thanks and so others can learn a little more about me since I'm a noobie here. :)

Very, very cool. I love that you shared all that album art, too! Thanks for the effort.
Great post cody. Making my way through it now. That Dr. John cover would stay with me for sure ... love that selection. Heart of the Congos ... just plain excellent.
Hey Nick!..I wonder what licensing snafu is holding up the arrival of Cymande in MOG..Grrrr.
